Meet Steve McClinton

Invested in Hoover. Dedicated to Its Future.
Steve McClinton has always believed in showing up for his city. Whether it's mentoring kids, supporting families, championing the arts, or helping small businesses thrive, Steve is deeply involved in the organizations that make Hoover strong.
Elected to the Hoover City Council in 2020, Steve was quickly chosen by his peers to serve as the council liaison to the Hoover City School Board—an acknowledgment of his leadership as President of the Hoover City Schools Foundation. He currently serves on more than a dozen city committees and boards, each focused on building a stronger, smarter, and more connected Hoover.
But Steve’s commitment to public service began long before elected office. He sits on the boards of Hoover Helps, a nonprofit that provides meals to food-insecure children, and the Birmingham Children’s Theatre, and he actively supports the Hoover YMCA. His work with Destination Hoover International helps celebrate and elevate the diversity of cultures that make Hoover a vibrant and inclusive community.
Professionally, Steve brings over 25 years of experience in the financial sector, where he helped clients plan for growth and retirement. Today, he’s the Managing Partner of gainShare Marketing, LLC, a B2B consulting firm focused on helping companies grow and succeed.
Steve and his wife of more than 20 years, Stephanie, have proudly raised their three children in Hoover. Their deep roots in the community drive Steve’s passion for service, leadership, and thoughtful governance.
